Rachel’s hoop classes are all about joyful movement. Hooping is not only a workout, but also a chance to play, express yourself, and feel present in your body. Come learn to hoop or try new moves while you are getting your heart going, toning up, and dancing yourself silly. With our adult-sized hoops, even people who were never successful keeping a hoop spinning before find themselves hooping confidently. No prior experience necessary and hoops are available to borrow for class or for purchase.

Hoop Dance Fitness Fusion
Get moving with a hoop to get fit and discover the dancer in you! This class combines the best of Hoop Dance and Hoop Fitness: you’ll get a workout, but you’ll feel like you are playing! We’ll explore both on-body and off-body hooping moves, increasing your hooping joy while improving your stamina, all-over muscle tone, balance, and flexibility. Each class will focus on a theme designed to support and challenge hoopers of all ability levels and learning styles–from never-hooped-before all the way to expert.
Two versions of this class offered: choose an adult class or join a family class where you can bring along a child!
De-stress and get moving in a playful learning environment! In each Hoop Dance class we will focus on specific body parts and hoop dance concepts, building on the body awareness and hoop techniques we’ve worked on previously. The series progression is designed to support and challenge all levels and learning styles and especially beginning hoopers. While the optimum experience is the full series, classes can be enjoyed separately and drop-ins are welcome if space is available.
Get sweaty and fit and have fun! Hoop Fitness classes keep you moving with both on-body and off-body moves, improving your stamina, all-over muscle tone, balance, and flexibility. Designed to keep your heart rate up for the whole class. These classes are ongoing.
What to Wear/Bring
We suggest wearing comfortable, non-slippery fabrics so that the hoop grips better. Fitted clothes like yoga pants and tank tops work well. You may want to hoop barefoot or using indoor sneakers. Don’t forget your water bottle!

Cloud Nine Hoop classes are intended for adults (though I do plan to open up one class to families in the future–stay tuned!) Mature teens who are interested in attending should have a parent or guardian email me to discuss if this class is appropriate and will need to have the waiver signed by a parent or guardian before being allowed to participate.
Hoop Class Series*
Hooping takes up more room than most other group dance or fitness activities and I want to ensure that every participant has enough space to feel free to move. When you purchase a series,* I reserve a slot for you in the particular series (that is, on specific dates) and cannot sell the space to another potential participant. As a result, I am not able to offer refunds, partial refunds, or make-up classes, unless the class schedule changes. You are welcome to transfer your class slot with no penalty to a friend if you find yourself unable to attend or no longer interested in a class or the remaining classes. Email me to make such a transfer.
*Please note that because of space limitations, I am no longer able to offer class cards for flexible use. Cards already purchased will be honored.
Schedule subject to change. Please check back before your class begins. If you’ve bought a class series and the series is cancelled or moved to a different time, day, or location, you can receive a refund or exchange.
Cancellations: if I have to cancel class (due to illness, weather, or other circumstance), I will post the cancellation on the Cloud Nine Facebook page (if you “like” our page, the cancellation and other Cloud Nine news will conveniently show up in your newsfeed), our website and on the outgoing message on the Cloud Nine Hooping phone (518*328*4852). Generally, if the Saratoga Springs City Schools are closed due to road conditions, class is likely to be cancelled (but please check!). In case of class cancellation, the series will be extended so that it still includes the full number of classes.
Single class drop-ins welcome, as long as there’s space. Emailing ahead is recommended.
Free class coupons are good for your first class–either Hoop Dance or Hoop Fitness. If you picked up a coupon, email me to make sure there is a space in the class you’d like to sample. Don’t wait–coupons are only valid until March!
